PJRFSI is excited to share the latest development from GLOBALG.A.P. – the IFA v6 transition tool. Designed to streamline the transition process, this tool assists producers in smoothly moving from earlier versions of IFA to IFA v6, particularly for the aquaculture scope and the fruit and vegetables product category.
The transition tool functions as a support system, offering a checklist that aligns the requirements of IFA v5 and IFA v6 side by side. By doing so, producers can readily identify any gaps in their current programs and make the necessary adjustments. This checklist breaks down Major Must, Minor Must, and Recommendation CPCCs/P&Cs based on user responses, aiding in pinpointing areas that demand attention during the transition.
It’s essential to note that while the tool provides a comprehensive overview, it’s not designed to replace other supporting documents or serve as exhaustive training for IFA v6. For a better understanding of the changes introduced in IFA v6, it’s recommended to explore the IFA v6 web page and review resources such as the “Summary of changes: IFA v5 to v6” document and the “IFA v6: What’s new?” presentation.
While the transition tool’s use is not mandatory, it is highly valuable. It aids producers in readying themselves for IFA v6 audits or while undergoing audit cycles under earlier versions. The tool assists in aligning programs with the updated requirements and identifying areas for enhancement during the transition journey.
