Cannabis & Hemp Audit FAQ’s
When can I schedule my audit?
You will be contacted by one of our team members to schedule a call to discuss your certification and readiness for the audit. Based on this call, realistic dates will be set; you will then sign a scheduling acknowledgment form confirming everything in writing.
How do I know if I’m ready for an audit?
It is ultimately your responsibility to know what program you are being audited to. This starts with having the appropriate checklist for your program. Review the checklist with your team, do an internal audit, and document your efforts. You don’t have to have an internal audit done to schedule; but it needs to be done before the audit happens because it will be reviewed during the audit.
My audit is done and I need my Certificate, what are the next steps?
At the end of your audit you will receive a report as to what any nonconformities were issued. You have up to 30 days to respond to these in writing as what are called corrective actions. Once these corrective actions are received in full (if you have 5 corrective actions submit all 5; not one at a time), they are reviewed by your auditor and deemed acceptable. The auditor is allowed up to 10 business days to accomplish this. You will be notified that this has happened. The final step is your complete Certification package is given a final review by a member of what is called our Executive Committee, or “EC” review. This is not another audit; it is to verify what the auditor has done is correct and what you have done is correct. The EC reviewer has up to 10 business days to accomplish this. Once this is complete you will be notified and you will then receive a Draft certificate within 3 business days.
What is a Draft Certificate?
A Draft Certificate is the final proof to confirm names, addresses, etc. are spelled and listed correctly. Once this is signed off on, you are given your hard copy certificate. Congratulations!
How do I make changes to my certificate?
Simple clerical changes can be done by notifying us in writing. If you want to add a program, add products, etc. just let your scheduler or Project Manager know and we will determine the time and cost, if any, to achieve your additions.
