BRC for Storage and DistributionThe BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution is an auditing standard that applies to companies providing storage and distribution of products. This standard may be applied at any point in the distribution chain from primary production to retail for applicable products, farm to processor, primary processer to manufacturer, manufacturer to off-site warehousing, warehousing to retail depots, retail depots to store, store to final consumer.

The standard was originally published in 2006 by the British Retail Consortium (BRC) and was developed by a multi-stakeholder group including retailers, food service companies, industry trade associations, independent experts and certification bodies.

The standard is designed to reflect best practice and facilitate a process of continuous improvement through risk-based product safety management systems. The primary objective is to ensure quality and safety of products during their storage and distribution are maintained.
